Willis Boyarsky played football for the University of the Pacific in the early 1940s under the legendary Amos Alonzo Stagg.
Boyarsky was the recipient of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award of Honor for the academic year of 1999-00, given to "alumni who participated in athletics at Pacific and achieved distinction in their professional lives through the notable examples of integrity, dedication, idealism, and team spirit that Mr. Stagg personified and to which Pacific is dedicated"
Boyarsky led the Tigers to the 1940 Far Western Conference title and was drafted after college by the Washington Redskins, but put football aside to serve in World War II.
