Hall of Fame
Bob Lee earned induction into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983 for his accolades in football and as an administrator.Â
Coming to Pacific from City College of San Francisco, Lee starred under center and on special teams for the Tigers as team MVP in 1967. He holds the StaggStadium record with a 51-yard field goal.Â
Lee was named to the East/West Shrine Game in 1967 after leading Pacific at quarterback, ranking 10th in the country in points scored that year. He received his B.A. from Pacific in 1968 and his M.A. in 1971.Â
He was drafted in the 17th round of the NFL Draft, going on to enjoy a 13-year NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. Lee won Rookie of the Year honors with the Vikings in 1969 and team MVP honors with Atlanta in 1973.Â
Dubbed "The General" as a member of the Falcons' organization, he was named the 1973 Georgia Athlete of the Year by the Georgia Association of Sportswriters. He carried a winning percentage of 69 percent as a starting quarterback in the NFL.Â
Lee entered the real estate development and construction business after his induction into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame and returned to Pacific as the school's Director of Athletics in 1991.Â
As Pacific's AD, Lee spearheaded many fundraising projects and led the bid to host the 1998 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Arco Arena. He oversaw the construction of Bill Simoni Field and was instrumental in the construction of the Baun Fitness Center and redoing of the Pacific Sports Medicine Clinic.Â
