Emil Seifert played three years of football at Pacific under Amos Alonzo Stagg, but his contributions to Stockton and the University of the Pacific go beyond the football field.
After serving in the Army during World War II, Seifert returned to Stockton and became a full-time employee with the city's Recreation Department and was later appointed Director of Parks and Recreation for 48 years.Â
In this role, Seifert became the driving force behind the creation of such sports facilities like 40 tennis fourts, 24 softball and Little League diamonds and 38 handball courts.Â
