Art McCaffray played tackle for the Pacific football program in the early 1940s under Amos Alonzo Stagg.
McCaffray played on the 1943 team that rose to fifth in the nation. He was named an All-American that year before being drafted in the fourth round of the 1944 Draft by the Chicago/Pittsburgh Cardinals/Steelers.
Regarded by Amos Alonzo Stagg as "the finest lineman I have ever coached," McCaffray was the first player ever to play 60 minutes in the East-West Shrine Game.
