Eddie Macon played football at Pacific from 1949 to 1952, spending his time in the backfield as a halfback on the Tigers' famed 1949, 1950 and 1951 teams that won a combined 24 games.
Macon was the school's all-time leading scorer with 204 points on 34 touchdowns over his three-year career. He currently sits third in points behind Willard Harrell and Dick Bass.
As a defensive back, Macon intercepted 17 passes in three years for the second-highest in program history. His nine picks in 1951 for 245 returned yards are still a school record.Â
Off the gridiron, Macon excelled in track with his speed in the 220, 440 and relay events helping him to become one of the best halfbacks to play at Pacific.Â
Macon enjoyed a three-year professional career after Pacific, going in the second round to the Chicago Bears in 1952. He played two years in Chicago before spending his final year in 1960 with the Oakland Raiders alongside fellow Pacific Hall-of-Famers Tom Flores and Wayne Hawkins.
