The 1943 Pacific football team dismantled opponents by a combined score of 146-66 and finished the season 7-2 under National Coach of the Year Amos Alonzo Stagg. 

Stagg's '43 Tigers put the program on the map with a 16-7 win over Del Monte Pre-Flight. COP also claimed victories over UCLA (19-7) and California (12-0). 

The 1943 season saw Johnny Podesto and Art McCaffrey earn All-American honors, the first of any sport in the school's athletic history.
