Mike Ennis was an accomplished water polo goalie for Pacific.

Ennis was a solid performer for the Pacific's Men's Water Polo team during his four-year career, earning All-PCAA honors his freshman year. He continued his steady performance the following season, earning NCAA Honorable Mention All-American and being voted as Pacific's Most Inspirational Player. In 1982, Ennis was voted as a team captain for the season and that year he was again selected as a NCAA Honorable Mention All-American and member of the PCAA All-Conference Team for the second straight year. He was also chosen as an Academic All-American. In his final season, Ennis again was voted a team captain and took home the Pacific MVP Award. Ennis finished his career as Pacific's all-time career saves leader with 754 saves over his four year career. Ennis not only excelled in the pool, but in the classroom as well. He was named as a University of the Pacific Scholar Athlete seven of his eight semesters.

Ennis has enjoyed a very successful career playing water polo after his time at Pacific. In 2002, Ennis helped his team win the silver medal at the FINA World Masters Championships. In 2003, he led the squad to the gold medal in the US Masters National Championship. In 2004, he again won silver at the FINA World Masters. Ennis had a banner year in 2006. His team won the US Masters National Championships in which he was named MVP in the 40+ age group. Then, he won the FINA World Masters Championship with the Olympic Club.

In 2007, he again was a member of the winning team at the US Masters National Championship. In 2008, he helped his team win the US Masters National Championship in two different age groups, while again capturing silver at the World Masters.
