Bruce Coslet was a tight end on the Pacific football team from 1965-67 under head coaches Don Campora and Doug Scovil.

Coslet played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1969-76 when Bill Walsh served as the Bengals' offensive coordinator. In his eight professional seasons, Coslet appeared in 101 games and started 19 with 61 receptions for 878 yards and nine touchdowns.

After retirement, Coslet entered the coaching profession where his first job was with the San Francisco 49ers in 1980 alongside Walsh. He was a special teams and receivers coach for the Bengals from 1981-85 and an offensive coordinator from 1986-89. Coslet also served as the head coach of the New York Jets from 1990-93, taking the Jets to the playoffs in 1991 at the age of 45, one of the youngest NFL coaches at the time. He ended his 16-year coaching career after the 2002 season when he served as the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
