Willie Viney played football for Pacific from 1970 to 1973, twice earning All-Pacific Coast Athletic honors as a guard.Â
He received All-American honorable mention honors in 1972 after helping Mitchell True rush for 1,164 yards, ninth all-time in Pacific single-season history.
Viney made way for more school history in 1973, helping Willard Harrell become Pacific's second all-time leading rusher with 1,319 yards to earn him third team All-American honors.Â
Viney signed with the New York Jets after trying out with the San Francisco 49ers, but the All-American never played a down in the NFL. Instead, Viney spent a year with the Honolulu Hawaiians of the World Football League.Â
