Chester Caddas arrived on Pacific's campus in 1968 and coached the Tigers on the football field from 1972 to 1978.Â
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Caddas molded the football minds of Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, former Syracuse head coach Greg Robinson, forner NFL assistant coach Ron Turner, New England Patriots staffer Dante Scarneccia and former Pacific athletic director Ted Leland.Â
Caddas served as an assistant for Pacific from 1968-71 before taking over the head coaching job in 1972. In his first year at the helm, Caddas led Pacific to an 8-3 overall record and 3-1 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. He led Pacific to four winning seasons in his tenure and posted an overall record of 38-38-2.Â
