Farrell Funston played three years of football at the University of the Pacific from 1955 to 1957. 

Funston earned all-conference honors under head coach Jack "Moose" Myers and is sixth in school history with 17.6 yards per catch over his Pacific career with 44 receptions fro 774 yards. 

The Los Angeles native was drafted in the fifth round in 1958 by the Cleveland Browns, but did not play a down. Instead, Funston moved north and played wide receiver for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Funston went on to enjoy a successful eight-year career up north, winning three Grey Cups with the Blue Bombers while earning West All-Star honors in 1961 and 1963. In his eight years with Winnipeg, he caught 220 passes for 3,749 yards and 32 receiving touchdowns.
