Boyd Thompson served in a number of capacities at the College of the Pacific, including athletic trainer and athletic director.Â
In the late 1940s, Thompson served as the athletic trainer for the Tigers' football teams with All-American Eddie LeBaron at quarterback.Â
He brought star track and field athletes to Stockton as the athletic director in 1951 and 1952, including Hall of Famers Eddie Macon, Don Brooks, Ray Kring and Duane Putnam.Â
He also was the executive secretary of the San Joaquin Medical Society for 22 years and became president of the American Association of Medical Society Executives.Â
