Bob Breeden attended the College of Pacific and graduated with both bachelor's and master's degrees in 1922, when the College was still located in San Jose. 

A charter member of Stockton Hall of Fame, Breeden was head of Pacific's Physical Education Department at the time of the 1924 move from Silicon Valley to its current Stockton home. Breeden continued serving as the department head until 1932. 

At Pacific, Bob helped form the Far Western Conference Association and serves as first secretary of the Coaches' and Managers' Association from 1925 to 1932. He served as the athletic trainer for most of COP's sports from 1925 to 1943 and was the Graduate Manager of Athletics, chairman of the Physical Education Department and Director of Athletics as well as the chairman of the Department of Physical Education and Director of Athletics at Stockton Junior College, all from 1925 to 1950. 

Breeden was honored as Pacific's "Distinguished Alumnus of the Year" in 1978.
