Game One

In the second Pattison led off the inning with a solo shot to left to put Omaha up 1-0. In the top of the third Caitlyn Sung and Starr Vang both walked, giving Pacific its first runner in scoring position on the day. However Toni Santos fouled out on a bunt and the Tigers couldn't convert. During the bottom half of the inning the Mavericks loaded the bases with two outs looking to add to the lead, but Cassidy Gustafson got May to fly out to right to end the threat.

Sung gave the Tigers their first hit of the day in the fifth and scored shortly after as Starr Vang doubled her home, making it 1-1 and giving Vang her first collegiate hit. In the bottom half Omaha looked to go up once again and had bases loaded with two outs, but Gustafson got Bartz to foul out to Sydney Lahners to keep things knotted at one.

The Mavericks added four more in the sixth to pull ahead and in the top of the seventh, Gustafson went yard over the left field wall for her third home run of the season, making it 5-2. The Tigers would put runners on the corners with two outs and Sung scored her second run of the game on Hailey Reed's single to left to cut it to 5-3, however the Tigers could not get any more, resulting in their first loss of the tournament.

Game Two

The Gauchos got an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first following two hits, a walk and an error. In the bottom of the second Cassidy Gustafson led off with a bunt single and Rachel Sellers followed with a single to left. A Samantha Owen sacrifice bunt advanced the runners and Gustafson scored as Caitlyn Sung singled up the middle to make it 2-1. Next batter Starr Vang plated Sellers on a groundout to second to knot the score 2-2.

In the third UCSB was able to regain the lead on a two-run double off the bat of Cavazos, and then another double from Clark to go up 5-2.

In the bottom of the fourth Owen led off with a double and Sung followed with a walk, which brought up Vang who doubled to left-center, scoring Owen and cutting into the Gaucho lead. Following a Hailey Reed single, Haylee Moran-Rowen singled to left center which scored Vang and made the score 5-4. After a Lahners pop-out, Gustafson reached on an error by the second baseman which scored Reed and Vang and the Tigers had their first lead of the game 6-5.

UCSB was able to get three back to go ahead once again 8-6 in the top of the fifth. Pacific was able to narrow the deficit in the bottom of the sixth on Sydney Lahners' second home run of the year to make it 8-7. However the Gauchos would add one more to make it 9-7 in the top half of the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh, Owen ripped a one-out triple to left and Sung followed with a walk. Owen scored on a Gaucho error to bring it to 9-8. Sung advanced to third on a fielder's choice off the bat of Apolskis and scored the tying run on Reed's double down the left field line to tie it at 9 and send it to extras.

In the eighth the Gauchos scored on an infield single to take the 10-9 lead. In the bottom half the Tigers failed to get that tying run to stay alive, dropping their second in a row.

The Tigers cap off the Stanford Nike Invitational tomorrow at 11 AM against Stanford before taking on UC Santa Barbara at 1 PM.
