Biography

2017-2018 (Sophomore): 
Saw action in 17 games and four starts for the Tigers. Tallied five hits, one RBI, and a batting average of .208. Went 1-2 at the plate against No. 1 Oklahoma early in the season (Feb. 11th) and converted on 13-13 fielding chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage on the year. 

2016-2017 (Freshman):
Saw action in 24 games and ranked third on the team in batting average with a .308 mark in a season cut short due to injury. She posted a .413 on base percentage as well as a .436 slugging mark which were both the best among freshman. Vang got her first collegiate hit with a double against Omaha (Feb. 18) and followed with a 2-for-4 performance with three RBIs and a run scored against UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 18). Registered her first career home run against Hofstra (Mar. 11) to put the Tigers on the board in the 3-2 victory. 

High School:
A graduate of Buchanan High School, Vang earned All-Conference honors in addition to being named Offensive Player of the Year all four years of her high school career.  During her senior year, the infielder helped the Bears win the TRAC Valley Championship and finished the season with a .422 batting average and a .535 on base mark. Vang graduated with Salutatorian recognition and is a California Scholarship Federation lifetime member.

Personal:
Starr is the daughter of Ying and Maytia. She has one younger sister Skyy and two younger brothers Justin and Jacob. Starr is a biology major and plans to be a pharmacist.
