STOCKTON, Calif. - On Saturday, the University of the Pacific Beach Volleyball team will look for a pair of wins in the sand with dual matches against Sacramento State and San Jose State. The Tigers will look for back-to-back wins against the Hornets to start the day's action. Sacramento State hosts both matches.

*SJSU meets Santa Clara on Saturday prior to the matchup against Pacific. By start time, the record is expected to change. 

THINGS TO KNOW

• The Tigers are coming off a 4-1 win against against Sacramento State last Sunday in Stockton. 
• Two of Pacific's pairs won their first matches of the season, including Lucy Carpenter and Hania Taduran along with Hanne De Schrijver and Sedona Sherman. 
• Jenny Todd and Jadyn Tubbs have a team-high four wins this season. 
• Miranda Baptista and Sammie Sheppard are on a two-match win streak entering Saturday. 
• Other members of the Tigers who have appeared in a 2021 beach volleyball match include Claire Danna, Alexa Edwards, Illyria Kalaj and Gabby Leo.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS

• In the 4-1 loss to Pacific, the pair to pick up a point for Sacramento State was Paige Swinney and Kalani Hayes. 
• Saturday's matches will be the first set of events hosted by Sacramento State at the new beach volleyball facility, Hornet Beach. 

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS

• Entering Saturday, the Spartans have only played one dual match in 2021, which was a 5-0 loss to UC Davis this past Sunday.
• In the dual match against UC Davis, the only SJSU pair to win a set was Calli Novak and Kiley Lingenfelter.
