Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. - The Tiger softball team defeated visiting Loyola Marymount 5-1 on Sunday afternoon to secure a series sweep over the Lions. Marissa Young got her second start of the series, going five and two-thirds with just one earned and two strikeouts. Megan Walters struck out the side in the seventh inning en route to her second save this year. Caitlyn Sung went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI's and two runs scored, which is her fourth three-hit game this season. Hailey Reed also added three hits in the contest and fellow freshman Ralene Estrada hit a double and a triple in the victory.
The win brings the Tigers to 21-24 on the year, 4-5 in West Coast Conference play while the loss drops LMU to 16-29 overall, 2-7 in conference action.
Tigers got on top early with Caitlyn Sung leading off with a single to right and Hailey Reed beating out a bunt. Next batter Molly Bourne's fly out to right moved Sung to third, and she then scored on Sydney Lahner's sacrifice fly to center field.
With one down in the second Ralene Estrada hit a triple to right and scored two batters later on Sung's double to left, making it 2-0 Tigers. Meanwhile Marissa Young continued to cruise, allowing just one baserunner in the first three innings.
Estrada got her second hit of the afternoon in the fourth as the freshman ripped a double down the left field line. Haylee Moran-Rowen moved her to third on a sacrifice bunt, and Sung scored her to make it 3-0 on a single to the second baseman. Reed added another single to center field, which advanced Sung to second, and the pair both stole a base with Bourne at the plate to put runners on second and third. Bourne worked a walk, with the final pitch of the at bat being a wild pitch, which scored Sung from third and made it 4-0.
The Lions finally got on the board in the sixth as Dirks hit a solo home run off the scoreboard in left-center, bringing the score to 4-1. Pacific was able to get the run right back in the bottom half of the inning on a Bourne sacrifice fly to left which scored Moran-Rowen and brought the lead back up to four.

The Tigers hit the road for the final time this regular season next weekend when they take on Santa Clara. The series kicks off Saturday with a double header at noon and 2 PM before concluding on Sunday at noon.
