Stockton, Calif. - The No. 66 Pacific men's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 36 Oregon on Wednesday at Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

The Tigers fell behind after dropping the doubles point, 2-1. Sem Verbeek & Alex Giannini posted a 6-3 win over Daan Maasland & Simon Stevens at scone doubles, but Oregon rallied for come from behind at third and first doubles. Cormac Clissold & Thomas Laurent topped Daniel Alameh & Kumara Pardha Adavelly, 7-5. At first doubles, #31 Jayson Amos & Armando Soemarno prevailed over Miguel Diaz & Jose Chamba in a tie-breaker, 7-6 (7-3).

In singles, Clissold wrapped up a fifth singles win over Giannini, 6-1, 6-2 and Ethan Young-Smith won at sixth singles over Adavelly, 6-0, 6-0 as the Tigers fell in a 3-0 hole.

Verbeek won his first set, 6-4 over #120 Maasland at first singles, while Diaz led Amos after a 6-4 first set win at fourth singles.

But Thomas Laurent completed a second singles win over Alameh, 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the match.

"I thought we had a great chance today," head coach Ryan Redondo said. "We had match points in doubles and a great amount of energy and momentum.  Once the doubles points slipped, Oregon really stepped up and took care of business in some positions.  Sem and Miguel did a great job today in both singles and doubles.  As the coach, I could have done some things better today to put us in a better position after the doubles, but it didn't happen.  We'll get ready for Saint Mary's this weekend and ready to get better and better each day."

Oregon improves to 16-4 overall, and the Ducks are 2-2 in Pac-12 play this season. The Tigers fall to 12-10 overall and remain 4-1 in West Coast Conference play.

The Tigers remaining four matches will be against WCC opponents leading up to the WCC championship. Pacific is back in action on Saturday at Saint Mary's at noon.
