Joshua Craze Signing

Men’s Tennis Brings in International Student-Athlete as Latest Recruit

STOCKTON, Calif. – Joining the program in the fall of this year, Pacific Head Coach Cliff Awuy announced the addition of Joshua Craze to the program on Monday afternoon.

The incoming freshman comes to Stockton by way of Somerset, England where he was the fourth ranked player in the 18U British Boys Ranking, and a top-75 player amongst British men (No. 63). Internationally, Craze carries an ITF junior ranking of 683.

Beyond his rankings, the England native was a finalist in the 18U British Junior National Championships, a singles champion in three different British Tour Tournaments at Newport, Edgbaston, and Exeter, a singles and doubles champion at the Somerset County Championships and the captain of the Millfield School tennis program.

Venturing outside his home country, Craze was a singles finalist at the ITF J60 tournament in Porto, Portugal, and a singles/doubles semifinalist at the ITF's J60 tournament in Preveza, Greece.

Before he officially joins Pacific in the fall, the rising freshman will be competing in two high level tournaments over the summer in the Junior Wimbledon and the J300 in Roehampton, England.

"We are excited to welcome Joshua to Pacific and believe he has the talent and competitive mindset to make an immediate impact on our program. He has proven himself against a high level of competition in Great Britain and internationally," Awuy said.

"What stood out most to us was his work ethic and his desire to continue developing both on and off the court. Joshua is the type of student-athlete who fits the culture we are building here at Pacific, and we are looking forward to helping him reach his full potential."

Craze steps into a program that is set to return eight student athletes from last season's roster.
