Albuquerque, N.M. - The No. 58 Pacific men's tennis team rallied to beat Grand Canyon Saturday at the Pacific Mountain Invitational.

In third singles, Miguel Diaz & Bernardo Oliveira topped Mathieu Rajaonah & Gregoire Balenci, 6-4 to clinch the point. Alex Giannini & Kumara Pardha Adavelly's doubles match went unfinished.
In singles play, Verbeek ran his singles record to 10-2 this season, taking a 6-2, 7-6 (5) win over Mitch Maroscher at the first position. Chamba defeated Roggenkamp, 6-1, 6-3, at third singles, but the Antelopes posted wins at second, fourth and fifth singles. Schueller won over Diaz, 6-3, 7-5 at the second spot, and at fifth singles, Meidy Chazeau topped Oliveira, 6-4, 7-6.
Rajaonah's three-set comeback win over Giannini, 1-6, 6-4, 6-0, tied the match at 3-3. But Adavelly rallied back to win in three, outlasting Justin Cvitanovic, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (0) to give Pacific the third place finish in the eight-team tournament.
"Jose Chamba was a rock today. I was very impressed with his performance," head coach Ryan Redondo said. "We are also really happy for Kumar today. He picked up his first win of the year and in stellar fashion: 7-6 in the third set and 7-0 in the breaker. He came up clutch and played the end of the match very well to give us the win. Grand Canyon was really tough."
The Tigers improve to 8-7 on the season, while Grand Canyon falls to 8-6. Pacific is back in action next Saturday as the Tigers face George Washington at 10 a.m. and Sacramento State at 1:30 p.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
