Pacific women's soccer (3-2-1) returns home where the Tigers are unbeaten at 2-0-1 this season and 8-0-5 in the last 13 home non-conference matches. Pacific has not lost a home non-conference match since a loss to San Francisco (played as a non-conference match) in the 2020 season, played in the spring of 2021.

Last week, the Tigers split two road matches, knocking off Oregon State, 3-1, on Thursday before falling to New Mexico State, 3-1 on Sunday. Fifth-year senior
Jaida Nyby leads the team and ranks second in the WCC with six goals.
Alexis Pashales, who scored two goals against Oregon State, is second on the team with three goals.

Southern Utah (0-2-4) is looking for its first win of the season. The Thunderbirds were picked seventh in the Western Athletic Conference after finishing 9-6-2, 4-5-2 a year ago. Southern Utah tied its last three contests, deadlocked with Northern Arizona, Cal State Fullerton and Nevada. The Thunderbirds went 0-2-1 in a swing to the Midwest to open the season, tying South Dakota but falling to Omaha and Northern Iowa.

Pacific and Southern Utah have not meet since the 2021 season when the Tigers posted a 1-0 victory in Cedar City, Utah.

On Sunday, the Tigers will make the short trip north to face Sacramento State (2-3-1) in a 1 p.m. match. Pacific has won the last two matches against Sac State, scoring four goals both times.

Pashales and
Lauren Frohan both scored against the Hornets last season, and Nyby had a goal in 2021. The only common opponent between the two so far this season is UC Irvine, who beat both the Tigers and Hornets, 2-0. The two Sacramento State wins are both 1-0 victories over Hawaii Pacific and UC Riverside.

After the week, Pacific will return home to host Fresno State (1-2-2) in Mental Health Awareness Night at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14.
