STOCKTON, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has released its 2023 Preseason Rankings and the All-WCC Preseason Team.
"Our program is fully aware of how competitive the West Coast Conference is year in and year out, with 2023 being no exception," said Co-Head
J.J. Wozniak. "With that being said, everyone associated with our program, players, coaches, and support staff, are working incredibly hard to make big time noise this fall and finish at the top of the WCC standings."
Pacific came in seventh in the poll with 24 total points, ahead of LMU and San Diego. This is the second straight season Pacific has been ranked above LMU and San Diego. The Tiger's exciting combination of veteran returners and newcomers should provide plenty of challenge in one of the best soccer conferences in the nation.
"We respect where we have been predicted to finish but internally, it just gives us all a little extra boost to go out and continue to elevate the standards of our Pacific Tiger program," added Co-Head Coach
Danesha Adams.
With BYU leaving the conference, nine teams will be vying for the WCC title this season.
Pacific starts the regular season this week, hosting UC San Diego at Knoles Field on Thursday before Eastern Washington comes to town on Sunday.
No. 19 Santa Clara looks to defend its 2022 WCC crown as the Broncos come in at the top of the rankings, receiving all eight first-place votes.
