SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced its 2025 conference awards on Wednesday morning with graduate student
Taylor Curtis and fifth year
Aniela Jensen earning Honorable Mentions accolades.
"Day in and day out we continued to show that we had one of the best midfields in the West Coast Conference," Pacific head coach Jeff Freeman said. "Aniela and Taylor are a huge reason for that. Professionals on and off the field they were both the glue that held us together and the engine that made Pacific women's soccer go! I am so proud of both Taylor and Aniela and look forward for what is next for them in their careers!"
Curtis, a native of North Highlands, California, was tied for the team lead in goals and points with two goals and five points in 19 matches. Curtis set career highs in goals and assists with those totals, scoring against Cal Poly and Gonzaga in the 2025 campaign. This is the first time in her career that Curtis has earned a conference award.
"Taylor can dribble out of pressure like no other!" Freeman said. "She is clean on the ball, and unpredictable in her attack. She single-handedly keep opponents on their heels for long stretches of games."
Jensen, a native of Palmerston North, New Zealand, paced Pacific with two assists and was tied for second on team in points with four. Jensen's lone goal of her 2025 campaign proved to be a game-winner on a penalty kick in a 1-0 victory over Utah State at home, marking the first win of the season. This is the second time in Jensen's career she has been recognized for her outstanding play in the WCC. In 2021, Jensen was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team.
"Aniela arguably has the highest soccer IQ of any central midfielder that I have ever coached," Freeman said. "She can connect things for us offensively, while ready to defend and fight for us defensively."
