SACRAMENTO, Calif.: The Tigers competed in the Golden State Invitational on Friday, falling to Hawaii, 4-2, in the first match and dropping game two to Nevada, 4-1. 

A strong Hawaii team jumped out to an early lead, winning the doubles point as Aleska Mardjonovic and Liam Puttergill fell 6-2, and Manroop Saini and Coby McCaig were defeated, 6-2. 

Peter Alam (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) and Ran Amar (6-3, 6-4) recorded early singles wins for the Tigers to even the score. It was all Rainbow Warriors after that with three singles wins to secure the match. 

Against Nevada, Alam and Amar won their doubles match 6-4, but the Tigers fell on courts two and three to give the Wolf Pack the 1-0 lead heading into singles. 

Amar continued his solid day, winning his singles match (7-5, 6-3). He would be the only Tiger to record a win as the #4, #5 and #6 singles for Nevada would go on to win. Alam and Mardjonovic would remain unfinished. 

The Tigers will be back home on Tuesday as they host Northern Arizona. The match will start at 1:00 p.m.
