SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The second day of the WCC Mid-Season Invitational was not favorable to the University of the Pacific Beach Volleyball team. The Tigers were swept in their first match, falling 5-0 to Saint Mary's, then losing 3-2 to San Francisco in their second match of the day. Pacific finishes the tournament at 1-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play. `

MATCH ONE SUMMARY

Saint Mary's 5, Pacific 0
The Gaels swept Pacific to start the day's action. The most competitive match was in Flight #3 where Pacific's pair of Jenny Todd and Jadyn Tubbs won the opening set, 21-15 over Morgan Kendrick and Jennifer Laird, but lost the second and third sets.

MATCH TWO SUMMARY

San Francisco 3, Pacific 2
The Tigers won two matches, but USF won in Flight 1, 2 and 4 for a 3-2 win. Some of the pairs were different than previous matches in the tournament for Pacific. 

Picking up a third win in 2021 is the pair of Todd and Tubbs, who won Flight #3 in two sets.

With their first career win as a pair, Miranda Baptista and Sammie Sheppard won in two sets in Flight #5 for the Tigers.

This coming Sunday, Pacific hosts its first home match of the season with a showdown against Sacramento State. Start time from Raney Sand Volleyball Courts is set for 9:00 a.m.
