NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The 2021 season for the University of the Pacific Beach Volleyball team opened up on Friday afternoon at the CSUN Beach Volleyball Complex. The Tigers took the season opener, 3-2 over Vanguard. in the second match, Pacific was shut out by the host team, Cal State Northridge, 5-0.

The Tigers immediately picked up a point by way of a forfeit by VU. The first win by competition on the day for Pacific was by the pair of
Lucy Carpenter and
Sammie Sheppard, who defeated Allyson Scharrer and Emilee Hall in three sets, 21-11, 14-21, 15-7.
Although the Lions managed to even the dual match at 2-2 with a win Court #1, the dual match was ultimately decided on Court #3. That is where Pacific's returning pair of
Jenny Todd and
Jadyn Tubbs defeated Vashti Elias Romero and Sydney Erwin in two sets, 21-19, 21-16, clinching a 3-2 win for the Tigers to open the 2021 season.
