SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Hornet Beach officially opened for competition Saturday morning, with one of the first matches at the new facility going in favor of the University of the Pacific Beach Volleyball team, 3-2 against Sacramento State. Ultimately, the Tigers went 1-1 on Saturday after dropping a match to San Jose State, 4-1. Through Saturday's matches, Pacific is 3-6 overall in 2021.
MATCH ONE SUMMARY
The Tigers took points in Flights #3, #4 and #5. The Pacific pair of
Lucy Carpenter and
Hania Taduran won for the second straight match as a pair. For their third straight win together was
Miranda Baptista and
Sammie Sheppard.
For their fifth win of the season as a pair in the earlier dual match for the Tigers was
Jenny Todd and
Jadyn Tubbs.
Although the Hornets won in Flight #1 and #2, the Tigers' three points was enough to secure a 3-2 win for their second in a row.
