Gagliardo Takes Second, Breaks 200 Breast Record to Finish UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Pacific swimming and diving team took third place on both the men's and women's side at the UNLV Invite at the UNLV Buchanan Natatorium, finishing up their midseason rest meet Tuesday with Angela Gagliardo finishing second overall at 77 points while breaking a school record. 

WOMEN
  • Gagliardo padded her final score by breaking the Pacific 200 Yard Breast record she set last year, clocking in at 2:12.95 for the win and an NCAA B cut. Kelsey Lloyd joined Gagliardo in the top five, finishing fourth with a time of 2:19.75.
  • Semaj Walker and Katleen Gani went three and four in the 100 Yard IM with times of 58.35 and 59.42, respectively. 
  • Allie Emery posted a top-ten showing in the 100 Yard Free, claiming seventh with a season-best time of 52.54. Taylor Hosmer just cracked the top ten in the event with a season best of her own, clocking in at 52.39.
  • In the relay department, the Tigers took fifth with a time of 3:29.28 in the 400 Yard Free through the tandem of Emery, Hosmer, Gagliardo and Erin Oliphant.

MEN
  • The Tigers posted two top-five finished in the 800 Yard Free Relay. David Noyes, Ricky Lewis, Andrew Davis and Michael Kang took fourth in 6:44.77, while fifth place with a time of 6:59.80 went to Jonathan Tan, Dylan Parente, Sean Remmert and Alex Young
  • Pacific also stood out in the 400 Yard Free, taking fourth in the relay as Frankie Fitzpatrick, Erik Clemensen, Parente and Noyes clocked in at 3:03.14.
  • Lewis continued to swim well in his debut season with the Tigers, posting a sixth-place finish in the 1,650 Yard Free with a time of 16:10.18. 
  • Noyes and Fitzpatrick turned in top-ten times in the 100 Yard Free. Noyes clocked in with a season best of 45.67 while Fitzpatrick knocked nearly three seconds off his previous season best with a time of 46.05.
  • Brandon Reno took sixth in the 200 Yard Breast, clocking in at 2:03.73.
  • Mackaby Pennington finished second in the one-meter dive with a score of 280.75.
