Agiomamitou Records Podium Finish on Day Three at MPSF Championships

PHARR, Texas – The Pacific men's and women's swimming and diving program took a step forward with some stand-out performances on day three of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium.

The Tigers were led by the podium finish of sophomore Christina Agiomamitou, who earned a third-place nod in the women's 200 yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:48.47 for 27 points. Agiomamitou's time of 1:48.47 was her second fastest time of the season in that event.

Coming off his school record last night, freshman Raphael Vanhecke turned in a strong outing on day three with a fourth-place finish in the men's 200 yard freestyle, touching the end wall at 1:36.42 for 15 points on the men's side.

Redshirt junior Laureen Roussel presented another bright spot on the women's side for Pacific, competing in the A final in the women's 100 yard breaststroke and earning 22 points for her time of 1:03.47.

Rounding out the Tigers' third day of competition on the men's side, the Pacific A team recorded a season best in the men's 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:13.42 for 28 points.

Through 29 events, the Pacific women are in eighth place with 344 points while the men stand in fifth place with 209 points.
