Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - As the series shifted, so did the momentum as the Pacific baseball team saw San Fransciso even the West Coast Conference series at a game apiece with a 10-3 win in game two Saturday at Bendetti Diamond.
After Pacific won game one Friday, 9-5, at Klein Family Field, the Dons turned the tables by tallying 15 hits.
Ryan Schalch went 3-for-4 with a triple, while Kevin Sandri added two RBI in his 2-for-4 afternoon.
In the first, Pacific jumped out to a 1-0 lead as James Free II was hit by pitch, and Schalch followed with a single. Sandri added an RBI single to right.
The Dons answered with three in the second on RBI double from Riley Helland, an RBI single from Dan James, and a single up the middle from Tyler Villaroman to plate James.
In the fourth, the Tigers cut into the lead as Schalch led off with a triple to right center, and Sandri doubled down the right field line to make it 3-2.
But USF posted another three-run inning in the bottom half of the fourth as Helland singled and James homered to rught. After a Villaroman double, Matt Sinatro singled him home for a 6-2 lead.
Pacific answered right back in the fifth, as Carter Hayes and Jimmy Boras posted back-to-back singles. Matthew Tarantino followed with a sacrifice fly, but Benji Post replaced Scott Parker and ended the frame.
USF wasted no time getting the run back in the bottom of the fifth, as Dominic Miroglio posted a solo home run off Ed O'Bannon III. The Dons added three straight singles for a 8-3 lead before O'Bannon closed the inning.
In the seventh, USF tacked on as Harrison Bruce added a two-run double.
Cooper Casad took the loss, allowing six earned in four innings with a pair of strikeouts. Bailey Hansen tossed a shutout frame in the eighth.
Post picked up the win, going 4.1 in relief, allowing no runs while striking out four.
The series concludes Sunday at USF at 1 p.m.
