SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Tigers dropped their match 4-0 as they took on the San Diego Toreros in a West Coast Conference matchup.
Pacific fell behind after dropping the doubles point, 2-1. Miguel Diaz and Alex Giannini posted a 6-2 win over Gui Osorio and Joel Gamerov at seconddoubles, but San Diego rallied for a come behind at first and third doubles. Filip Vittek and Joshua Page topped Akram El Sallaly and Tadiwa Chinamo, 6-3, while Guus Koevermans and Pratt Keerasuntonpong prevailed over Lance Ngo and Bernardo Oliveira, 6-2.
In singles, Gamerov wrapped up a fifth singles win over Ross Watson, 6-2, 6-4 and Vittek won at first singles over Diaz, 6-3, 6-1 as the Tigers fell in a 3-0 hole.
At third singles, Page took the first set 6-3 before Giannini fought a tough battle but falling 7-5 that secured the match for the Toreros.
Chinamo and Hampton were both ahead in their second sets before their matches went unfinished.
San Diego improves to 11-8 overall and the Toreros are 3-2 in the WCC play this season. The Tigers fall to 8-14 overall and 1-5 in the WCC.
The Black and Orange head into a three game home stand to finish off WCC play facing Portland on Friday and Gonzaga on Saturday. Both games are set for a 1:00 p.m. first serve at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
