STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team fell to Loyola Marymount 4-1 Sunday afternoon in a road West Coast Conference matchup in Los Angeles, California. Pacific falls to 8-10 overall and 1-2 in the West Coast Conference, while LMU is now 5-11 overall and 1-2 in WCC play.
Pacific quickly earned the doubles point as Lance Ngo and Bryan Husin finished off Cartier Juan and Alex Bourgeois, 6-1 at third doubles. At second position, Alex Giannini and Ross Watson clinched the point with a 6-4 win over Ryan Brown and Luke Bohuslav.
The Tigers struggled in singles as LMU took four points to claim the match. Gabriel Diaz Freire topped Alex Giannini, 6-3, 7-5 at second, while Bourgeois downed Akram El Sallaly 7-5, 6-3 at fourth singles.
Brown also defeated Husin 6-4, 6-4, while Luke Bohuslav topped Watson 7-6, 7-5.
Tadiwa Chinamo won his first set against Nick Borchenko 6-2, but went unfinished 7-5, 2-4. Lance Ngo knotted his match 7-5 after losing the first set 6-3 before his match also went unfinished.
The Orange and Black return home Wednesday to take on Utah at 1PM.
