Pacific Defeats UC Davis In First Match, 4-3

STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific defeated UC Davis, 4-3, in the first of two matches between the squads Saturday morning at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. 

Pacific (1-0) players Tadiwa Chinamo and Miguel Diaz won in the top two singles' spots for the Tigers. In No. 1 singles, Chinamo defeated Alec Adamson of UC Davis (0-1) 6-2, 6-3. Diaz dropped James Wade 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

In No. 3 singles, Pacific's Akram El Sallaly lost to Bryce McKelvie 6-4, 7-6 (6). The Tigers' Alex Giannini won over Everett Maltby in No. 4 singles 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-2. In the fifth spot, Pacific's Ross Watson defeated Max Pham 6-2, 6-3. In No. 6 singles, the Aggies' David Goulak defeated Lance Ngo 6-4, 6-2.

UC Davis won No. 1 and 2 doubles, each by a score of 6-4, as No. 3 doubles did not finish. On the one line, Goulak and Tommy Lam won over the team of Diaz and Chinamo. McKelvie and Wade defeated Giannani and Watson.

The second and final match of the day between the squads is set for 1:45 p.m. PT.
