Sacramento, Calif. -  Getting back on track in tournament play at Sacramento State, the Pacific sand volleyball team captured a pair of 4-1 wins over Boise State and San Francisco on Saturday, April 5. The wins for the Tigers moved their record to 5-1 on the season as Pacific regrouped from its first loss of the season suffered a week prior.

Beginning the day against the newly formed team from Boise State, the Tigers made short work of the Broncos despite playing down a regular pairing due to injury and illness. In all, the Tigers swept the top four pairings of the day, highlighted by a 21-5 victory by their top team of Lexi Elman and Kat Schulz at No. 1. Staying perfect on the year, the pair of Mia Feiner and Gillian Howard ran through their match at No. 3 to give Pacific the lead after the Tigers split matches at No. 4 and No. 5 pairings. 

After taking opening match of the day against the Broncos, the Tigers set their sights on revenge against WCC rival San Francisco who handed Pacific a 3-2 loss last season in the Tigers' inaugural season. In a hotly contested match against the Dons, Pacific persevered to outlast USF with wins at the top four pairings for the second-straight match. The Tigers came through with three-set wins at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 pairings as all three Tiger teams came back from one set down to take their match and help Pacific to the win. At No. 2, the team of Alicja Wilk and Kimmy Whitson, playing for together for the first time that day, ran through their match for a clean sweep as they finished the day a perfect 4-for-4 in sets played.

The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, April 6 when they come home to take on Cal Poly at 12:00 pm in a single dual match. In addition to the match the Tigers return will be dedicating the sand volleyball courts to the Raney Family for their generous donations to the Athletic Department.
