Albuquerque, N.M. - The Pacific men's tennis team dropped a close 4-2 at New Mexico on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Linda Estes Tennis Complex. The Tigers fell to 2-2, while New Mexico improved to 8-2.
"Today was a tough loss for the team, and a lot to learn from it," said Pacific Head Coach Ryan Redondo. "We came out a bit slow in doubles, and made a come back but was a bit late. However, the late doubles push gave us momentum into singles. We had a couple very close matches that we struggled to capitalize on. We have a lot of very important lessons to take away from today that will help us heading into another tough opponent (Oregon) tomorrow."
The Tigers fell in each of the first two doubles matchups, as New Mexico took the doubles point. Sophomore Sem Verbeek and sophomore Daniel Alameh each picked up singles victories.
The Tigers are next in action with a neutral site match vs. Oregon at New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m.
