Provo, Utah - The Pacific women's soccer team dropped their second consecutive game of the week as they fell to the No. 16 BYU Cougars, 1-0, in Provo, Utah on Monday, September 17. The loss dropped the Tigers to 3-2-1 on the season while the Cougars improved to 5-0-1 on the year.
A scoreless draw followed both teams to the locker rooms at half as neither side was able to gain a substantial advantage against their opponent for the first 45 minutes of the contest. However, in the second half, the undefeated Cougars took control of the game, firing off 11 shots in the final 45 minutes to put the Tigers on their heels.
With the momentum swinging in their favor, the Cougars were finally able to crack the Tigers' staunch defense in the 77th minute when Katie Larkin found the back of the net on her fourth shot of the evening. With the tie broken, the Cougars were able to sit back defensively and protect their goal, holding off the Tigers for the remaining 13 minutes of the game.
