Head coaches
Danesha Adams, and
J.J. Wozniak announced the addition of nine signees for the incoming Fall 2023 season. Six California natives join the squad, Camryn Salazar, Shay Clark, Grace Campos, Taya Sands, Kaelyn Sullivan and Kaya Rosa. Hannah McFarlane joins the Tigers from Kansas, Ellie Zimmerman comes from North Carolina, and Libby Davy hails from Australia.
Payton Yates joins the team from Florida and attended North Alabama for three seasons and was the starting goal keeper for the Lions for all three seasons. Yates will provide depth to a goalkeeping room that had two graduating seniors in 2022.
"First off, we want to congratulate our 2023 class and welcome them to our Pacific Tiger family," Adams said. "This class is unique in so many ways, but what sticks out most is how well we have gotten to know these future Tigers through their process. We know we are bringing talented soccer players and all-around good people who will impact our program in many positive ways!

Campos (Redlands, Calif.) played her club soccer for the Legends FC team out of the Southwest ECNL conference. The midfielder earned a First Team All-Conference selection for Redlands East Valley High School in the 2021 season. Campos intends to pursue a major in Business at Pacific and enjoys hiking in her spare time.
"When we started looking at the 2023 class, we knew right away that Grace was a player that we wanted to bring into our program," Wozniak mentioned. "As a central midfielder, she fits all the characteristics we look for in players that play in the midfield for us. She is terrific on the ball and can be extremely dangerous in the attacking half of the field, both by getting her teammates involved and scoring goals on her own. She is willing to defend and has consistent work, but her confidence also stands out."

Clark (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led the Tesoro High School Titans to the third round of the 2022 CIF Championships in a season where she was named Defensive Player of the Year in her conference. Outside of soccer, Clark enjoys playing the guitar, helping coach younger players, and likes to draw.
"A true holding Mid-Fielder," Adams said. "She has so much upside to her game, but we know there is so much more that we have yet to see. She is always in good positions on the field, understands the balance needed in the midfield, and is very effective in her defending ability, including being physically strong in confrontations with her opponents. She is technically good and can keep good possession with her ability to connect passes but, even more importantly, switch the point of attack."

Davy (Adelaide, AUS) adds to the Tigers' depth at the goalkeeper position after she served South Australia. After being selected for the South Australia state training program in 2017, Davy has been selected to multiple teams competing in the National Championship. Davy was also invited in both 2018 and 2019 to attend national goalkeeping camps and was identified on the u17 Women's National Team extended player list in 2021 & 2022.
"We look forward to Libby joining our Tiger's program for the Fall 2023 season," said Adams. She brings international experience to our program, and I know she will compete for a significant role in our team. We are excited for Libby to display her qualities; she plays the position confidently from both a technical and tactical standpoint."

Rosa (Newark, Calif.) joins the Tigers after a successful prep and club career. Rosa was a crucial part of her club, De Anza Force winning the Man City Cup in 2021 and was a Co-Captain for De Anza from 2019-22. Rosa is a part of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. Rosa will be a Health and Exercise Science major.
"She has so many qualities that make her an excellent Center Forward, but more than anything, she is a true soccer player, versatile to play anywhere on the field," said Wozniak. "She is outstanding on the ball, clearly understands the game from a tactical standpoint, and is impactful in the field's final third. She can hold the ball as a target in the build, link and combine with her teammates, and be good in and around the 18-yard box."

McFarlane (Overland Park, Kan.) joins the Tigers after playing club soccer for Sporting Blue Valley, where she helped the team to a 4th-place finish at ECNL Nationals. She was named a Player to Watch by Top Drawer Soccer and a Standout Player from Soccer Wire. McFarlane likes to work with animals and spend time with friends off the field.
"Bringing in another high-level goalkeeper was important for our program," Wozniak said. "Being from a quality ECNL club, her experiences have already helped her prepare for our level. She has a great tactical understanding of the game and consistently comes up with big saves when called upon."

Salazar (Walnut Creek, Calif.) comes to Stockton through Acalanes High School, where she was a two-year letter winner for the Dons and helped them to a Diablo Athletic League championship. Salazar played her club soccer for the De Anza Force, where she led the squad to an NCS Finals berth. Salazar was also a force in the classroom, making the honor roll all 4 years and earning a spot on the President's list her junior year.
"She is versatile and can fill various roles/positions on the field," Adams stated. "She gets the game at a high level, which enables her to be impactful as an Outside back, a Wing Back, or even a Winger if needed. Effective and efficient on the ball, getting forward in wide spaces, helping us to be even more dangerous in the final third."

Sands (Alta Loma, Calif.) earned Second-Team All-Conference honors during her first and second years for the Alta Loma High School Braves during her 4 years on varsity. The defender also backed up her hard work in the classroom, earning an Academic All-League honor in her junior year, and being named to the Superintendent's Honor Roll. Sands likes to read and work out in her time away from soccer.
"A quality Center Back," Wozniak said. "We have been impressed with her ability to defend and her confidence on the ball, which fits well with how we like to play. She can connect shorter passes to keep possession but can also extend her passing range to higher levels of the field. She does a good job of ensuring her teammates stay connected and compact."

Sullivan (Morgan Hill, Calif.) contributed heavily to her High School and club teams. For the Ann Sobrato High School Bulldogs, Sullivan not only was named captain of the team but produced 5 goals as well as 12 assists in her Junior season. In her club season for the De Anza Force, the forward scored 6 times and assisted on 5 other occasions. Sullivan intends to pursue a Health and Exercise Science degree once she is on campus.
"Another player that is versatile enough to play multiple positions, she brings size, strength, athleticism, and soccer quality," Adams said. "Sullivan has played a lot as an Outside Back, as a Winger, and as a Center Forward, and we know that her soccer IQ helps immensely when playing so many spots on the field. She wants to get forward and positively impact the game in the attacking half of the field."

Yates (Melbourne, Fla.) comes to Pacific from North Alabama, where she spent three seasons as one of the primary goalkeepers for the Lions. Yates earned the starting role her freshman year and did not relinquish it, making 41 starts with 199 saves in her three seasons with North Alabama. Her junior season Yates had six shutouts in 13 games played. Yates had a fantastic prep career, being named the Conference Player of the Year in the 2018-19 season. The following season she was named the team MVP at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy.
"We are thrilled that Payton has decided to become a Tiger," remarks Wozniak. "The Florida native comes to Pacific after spending her first three years in college at the University of North Alabama, where she was their starting Goalkeeper. That alone is a welcome addition to our program, a goalkeeper with a lot of Division I playing experience. We know Payton is excited to hit the ground running with her new teammates and program, as she has added more quality to our goalkeeper position."

Zimmerman (Wilmington, NC) comes to Pacific after accumulating honors on the field and in the classroom. Zimmerman was named Defensive player of the year and named to the 4A All-Region team by NC High School Soccer Coaches Association. The defender was also selected for the USYNT ID Center for her play. At Eugene Ashley High School, Zimmerman finished in the top 3% of her class and earned recognition from the National Honors Society.
"A Center Back who brings to our program a sense of toughness and hard-nosed defending, as well as a calming presence in the back, she will fit in very well with how we want our Center Backs to play, including being comfortable and confident on the ball," concludes Adams.
"It is such a diverse class from all over the world, and we are thrilled that they chose Pacific home for the next four years," said Wozniak. "We covered so much ground the last couple of years to ensure this 2023 class was loaded with influential players and people. This class makes us better, deeper, and stronger in many positions. We cannot wait for their arrival and to work with them very soon! It is an exciting time to be a Pacific women's soccer player."
This class will look to join a Pacific program that has had one of the most successful two-year runs in program history. The Tigers are currently on a 17-game unbeaten streak in non-conference matches over the past two seasons.
