Pacific Dominates Nevada with a 4-1 Performance

Box Score STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team (2-5) picked up a big win against last year's Mountain West Conference Champions, Nevada (0-4), with a dominating 4-1 performance.

"Fantastic team effort today," said Head Coach Robin Goodman. 'All the guys contributed, which helped us cross that finish line. We were gritty, played with passion, and overall competed well."

Freshman Tiago Silva and junior Andre Rodeia started the contest strong, picking up the first doubles point on court #3 with a 7-5 victory. After dropping the point on court #2 with a back-and-forth match, the doubles point all came down to court #1. Junior Peter Alam and senior Manroop Saini came out on top with a 7-6 victory, securing the doubles point for Pacific.

With one thing in mind, Pacific entered singles and won the match. On court #1, Alam cruised to the first singles point with a 6-3, 6-0 victory. On court #2, junior Ran Amar picked up the second singles point, defeating Nevada 6-3, 6-2. The last singles point was from redshirt freshman Terence Das. Das won the first set 6-1, dropped the second 7-5, and ultimately secured the win with a 6-2 win in set three.

"We now have to recover fast and turn our attention to UC Irvine on Sunday," said Goodman.

The Tigers will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 19, against UC Irvine with first serve at noon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
