Box Score STOCKTON, Calif.—Pacific women's soccer (7-7-1, 1-3 WCC) came up short against No. 14 Santa Clara, 5-1, during Homecoming and Family Weekend on Saturday.
"There is no mercy in the WCC," said co-head coach
J.J. Wozniak. "You have to bring it individually and collectively for the entire 90 minutes against every opponent in the conference."
Sophomore
Mira Scarsella registered the lone goal and first of her career off the assist from
Aniela Jensen in the 76
th minute.
The Tigers were outshot 19-7 and 13-3 in net. The Broncos also had a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper
Juliana Alexander grabbed a career-high eight saves.
"We didn't capitalize on more of the really good moments we had during the match," said co-head coach
Danesha Adams. "Our group understands that it needs to be better on all levels to earn results against opponents like this. We know we have a quick turnaround to another big match in a few days and we will prepare accordingly to be ready to compete at home on Wednesday night."
