Women's Swimming and Diving Team Opens Season at Home Saturday

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's swimming and diving team opens its season this weekend, hosting Cal State East Bay at home on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

The meet starts at 11 a.m., and admission is free of charge. Schedule posters and pocket schedules will be given away to fans.

"These girls have been elevating their training each week and are ready to race this weekend," said Head Coach Katelyne Herrington. "They have put in some great work in the water and should have the confidence to close out their races. Cal State East Bay always has depth and talent in the freestyle events, an area we want to capitalize on this year."

The Tigers are 2-0 against the Pioneers, with the last meeting between the two teams almost precisely one year before this meet. That last meeting saw a 161-101 victory for the Tigers, and the previous victory was 168-94.

This meet will also serve as the first for new assistant coach, Nate LeRoy. A Pacific graduate and former swimming student-athlete, LeRoy returns to join the Tigers' coaching staff. The meet will also be the first for the team's six new faces.

With a shortened season last year due to COVID-19, the Tigers are looking forward to an exciting schedule of meets, including six home meets.
