Box Score IRVING, Calif. -- The Pacific women's water polo team (10-10, 4-1) scored the first three goals in the Friday afternoon contest and never trailed in an 8-5 Golden Coast Conference win over Concordia-Irvine (9-12, 2-5) at the William Woolett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irving. The #16 Tigers are in second place in the GCC with two conference contests remaining, one game behind GCC leader Fresno State (14-7, 5-0).

It was a multiple-goal contest for four Tigers.
Toula Falvey, Marianna Duarte,
Brianna Utas and
Emma Myall each had two goals.
Clara Vulpisi had six saves and three steals in the net. As a team, the Tigers had eight steals.

"Sometimes you must win sloppy in conference," said head coach
James Graham. "We found a way to come away with the win today. When it got close in the fourth quarter, our defense stepped up."
The Tigers led 5-2 after the first period, thanks to two goals each from Utas and Myall. Falvey got her first goal in a low-scoring second period, and the Tigers led 6-3 at intermission. Falvey and Duarte each recorded their second goal of the match in the third, and the Tigers were up 8-4 after three. Concordia scored the only goal of the fourth period, and the contest finished as an 8-5 Pacific win.
Pacific returns to action at noon Saturday, facing another GCC opponent, #20 San Diego State, in the Aztec Aquaplex.
