STOCKTON, Calif. – The #16 Pacific Women's Water Polo team (7-10, 1-1 GCC) hosts two at home this weekend that fans won't want to miss.
On Friday, April 1, the Tigers take on #17 LMU (11-8, 2-0 GCC) at 4 p.m.
The Tigers are 12-3 against the Lions, winning the last 10 contests in the series, including an 8-7 win in April 2021.
"The team is encouraged by our recent play. We are improving and building towards our goal of a conference championship," said Head Coach
James Graham. "LMU is going to challenge us. They are certainly talented and do a lot of things well. This game is an opportunity for us to come out at home against a ranked conference opponent and show our fans what we are about."
On Saturday, April 2, the Tigers host California Baptist (12-11, 0-2 GCC) at 11 a.m.
The Tigers are 12-8 against the Lancers, winning the last nine contests, including a 12-6 win last year.
"It's always tough to play back-to-back conference opponents, and this weekend will be no different," said Graham. "CBU has been in the mix in a lot of their losses; they have a strong competitive drive. I fully expect to get their best shot and to be challenged."
Redshirt junior
Clara Vulpisi had 16 saves and helped keep Pacific tied with No. 8 Fresno State through regulation with a 72.7 save percentage last week. She is second in the GCC for saves with 154 and tops in the league with an 8.71 goals-against average.
Graduate student
Mariana Duarte is fifth in the conference for goals with 41, and senior
Brianna Utas is third overall for field blocks with 12.
