Day two of MPSF Championships sees multiple season and personal bests for Tigers

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Day two of the MPSF Championships brought a lot of best times for the Tigers; season bests and lifetime bests!

On the men's side of the 200-yard Free Relay, the team of junior Dylan Parente, freshman Mitchell Hopper, sophomore Alex Kurotori and junior Frankie Fitzpatrick finished fifth with a time of 1:21.42.

In the women's 500-yard Free B Final, freshman Jadyn Phillips finished 16th with a time of 5:01.46, and in the C Final, freshman Ellie Macphail finished 24th with a time of 5:08.32.

Sophomore Caitlin Tan dropped two seconds to post a personal-best time of 2:05.54 in the 200-yard IM C Final, placing 17th, and freshman Paige Sondgeroth finished 22nd with a time of 2:07.68.

For the men, freshman Mitchell Hopper placed 15th 200-yard IM B Final with a time of 1:51.22 and sophomore Aidan Scott swam a 1:52.27 for an 18th place finish.

In the women's 50-yard Free C Final, senior Allie Emery finished 22nd with a time of 24.04. For the men, junior Dylan Parente finished 13th in the B Final with a time of 20.59.

"Our two freshmen, Jadyn & Mitchell, were our all-stars today, swimming lifetime bests and making it back to top 16 in finals," said Head Coach Katelyne Herrington. "The men also had an exciting start to the evening in the 200-yard Free Relay, swimming their fastest time this season. This evening, Caitlin Tan had a stellar two-second drop in the 200-yard IM in the C Final. Tomorrow is a big day for us, and we're looking to make big moves in the conference. It'll be important that we have those swims in the morning to be in a scoring position at night."

Day three of the MPSF Championships takes place on Friday, Feb. 18 and Day four on Saturday, Feb. 19.
