LOS ANGELES – Two Tiger swimmers placed sixth in the championship finals during an exciting third day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimming & Diving Championships for the Pacific men's and women's swim teams.
On the women's side, senior
Kelsey Lloyd finished sixth in the 100-yard Breaststroke in 1:03.22, improving her time from the event in 2021, which was 1:03.83. Freshman

Vivian Truong placed 19th, 20th and 22nd in the event.
"I knew it would be the last time I would swim that race, so I was very excited going into it," said Lloyd. "I used to get extremely nervous before my races, but for these last races, I wanted to enjoy what I have left! Having the team right there before and during the race also helped me get even more excited to swim for myself and the team."
Ellie Macphail placed 13th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.12. Sophomore

Jessica Clark finished 18th and 19th, respectively, in the same event.

Caitlin Tan won the consolation heat of the 100 Fly with a time of 55.14 to place ninth. Freshman
Jadyn Phillips was 15th in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:53.77.

Alexia Ferguson placed 23rd in the 200 Free.
The 400-yard Medley Relay placed seventh. The relay team of Gonzales, Lloyd, Tan and senior
Allie Emery finished at 3:47.71.
UC San Diego leads the nine-team women's field with 493 points. The Tigers pulled into a tie for eighth with Cal Poly, both with 127 points. San Diego stands in seventh place with 134 points.
On the men's side, senior
David Noyes had the best finish for the Tiger men, placing sixth in the 100 Fly with a time of 48.26. He improved from his seventh-place finish in the event a year ago and on his 2021 time of 49.16. Freshman Mitchell Hooper was tied for 12th in the same event with a 48.66 time.

Jonathan Tan, junior Nick Cisco and sophomore
Aidan Vulgas finished 17th, 18th and 19th in the 400 IM.
Junior
Dylan Parente scored in the 200 Free, finishing 10th with a time of 1:38.7. Noyes finished 21st and junior Ricky Lewis, 23rd.
Leland Baltazar placed 13th in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 49.60. Junior
Walker Wilson and senior
Winston Fong placed 20th and 21st.
The men's 400-yard Medley Relay placed seventh. The team of Baltazar, Vollmar, Noyes and Hopper finished in 3:20.81.
BYU leads the seven-team men's field with 502 points. Pacific stands in seventh with 144.50 points heading into the final day.
"I'm thrilled with the confidence that came into today's swims," said Head Coach
Katelyne Herrington. "It showed with the number of swims we moved up in rankings."
Herrington said her message for the team heading into the final day of the championships is reiterating what Assistant Coach
Semaj Walker noted in today's team meeting "The last day is all mental."
The final day of the MPSF Championships will be held Saturday, with the preliminary competition beginning at 10 a.m. and the championship finals at 6 p.m.
