STOCKTON, Calif. - The first West Coast Conference home series in 2021 for the University of the Pacific Softball team is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday with three conference games against Loyola Marymount. The Tigers host a doubleheader on Saturday, and complete the series on Sunday against the Lions.

THINGS TO KNOW
- Pacific comes off a 10-0 run-rule win over Santa Clara last Sunday. It was the first shutout of the season for the Tigers.
- Madison Kahwaty lauched her first home run of the season last Sunday and has seven in her career at Pacific.
- With 10 stolen bases each for Pacific is Kahwaty, along with Valeria Torres-Colon and Carly Lucchetti.
- Last weekend against Santa Clara, Myka Sutherlin went 2-0 with 12.0 innings in the circle with nine strikeouts and goes into the series against LMU with a 5-1 record.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
- Despite a .500 overall record, LMU has won four straight WCC games, and five out of six. Most recently, the Lions swept a three game series against San Diego on April 17-18.
- Taylor Keinath leads LMU in hitting with a .278 batting average.
- With a team-high four home runs and 19 RBIs is Desiree Moreno.
- With a 2.11 ERA, 121 strikeouts and a 10-7 record on the season is Marina Vitalich. With her two outstanding performances against USD, Vitalich was named WCC Pitcher of the Week on April 19, which was her second straight weekly conference honor and third of the season.
FAN ATTEDANCE UPDATE:
Pacific will offer a limited amount of complimentary pass list admissions for families and friends of UOP student-athletes and coaches. No tickets will be sold to the general public or the visiting team fans for the remainder of the 2021 spring season. The safety of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff is the number one priority as Pacific continues to adhere to all applicable protocols and guidelines for participants and spectators at outdoor sporting events.
In compliance with California mandates, all gameday spectators must be living in the state of California, wear a face covering at all times while visiting campus including any Pacific Athletics facility, and follow social distancing guidelines. Each spectator or pod of fans up to four individuals should remain in their specific seat area for the duration of the competition without visiting other pods or changing viewing locations. Please note that gameday spectators must abide by the venue policies at all times.
