BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Pacific men's and women's swimming teams traveled to the John L. Hillman Memorial Aquatic Center to face CSU Bakersfield on Saturday.
The CSU Bakersfield women won the dual meet by a 184-110 margin with the Roadrunners' Mikayla Popham and Autumn D'Arcy each victorious in three events.
The women had seven season-best performances with the Tigers'
Kelsey Lloyd picking up wins in the 100-yard (1:05.32) and 200-yard (2:22.57) breaststroke to lead Pacific.
Ashtyne Topie and
Ellie Macphail picked up a pair of second-place finishes. Topie was second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.35) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.37). Macphail was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.18) and 500-yard freestyle (5:09.47).
Also for Pacific,
Paige Sondgeroth and
Jordyn Gonzales were each able to secure a runner-up and third-place finish. Sondgeroth took second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.30) and third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.11). Gonzales was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.33) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.48).
In the relay events, the Tigers' 400-yard medley relay was second and third to start the meet. To wrap up the meet, Pacific swept the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Next, Pacific will resume its training before returning to the pool for the UNLV Invite on Dec. 17-19.
