Tigers Earn 4-1 Victory on Final Day of the Pacific Mountain Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of the Pacific men's tennis team earned a 4-1 win over the University of Hawaii in the final day of the Pacific Mountain Invitational.

The match started with a doubles' competition, where Pacific earned its first match point with two out of three wins.

Bernardo Oliveira and Akram El Sallaly defeated Felix Albert and Fabian Woehrl by a score of 6-2. The next doubles win came from Ross Watson and Tadiwa Chinamo defeating their opponents, Lucas Labrunie and Eric Kenneth, by a score of 6-3.

In the singles' competition, El Sallaly picked up the first win defeating Aleksa Lazarevic in two out of three sets. El Sallaly took set one, 6-2, before dropping the second set, 7-5, but picked up the win in the third set by a score of 6-2.

Mikayel Khachatryan defeated Tristan Martin for the second singles win by scores of 6-3 and 6-0. Johnathan Lieu earned the third and final win of the match, defeating Woehrl by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

The Tigers improve to 3-10 on the season.

Pacific opens conference play at home hosting Brigham Young University on Friday, March 9. First serve is slated for noon.
