Box Score Oklahoma City, Okla. - In a rough but valuable wrap up to the OSU Hall of Fame Classic, the women's softball team were topped by tournament host Oklahoma State University, falling to the No. 24 Cowboys in five innings by a final score of 11-1.
Following it's loss, Pacific sits with a record of 8-15 on the season. The Cowboys move to 19-6 after Sunday and extend their win streak to 10 games.
The Orange and Black struggled in the circle to start out the game, giving up five runs in the first two innings to OSU to fall behind, 5-0. The Cowboys compiled four runs off three hits and one error in the second inning, helping them pull away early and carry the lead.
Pacific had a tough time solidifying a presence at the plate, tallying just one hit through four innings, a second inning single by Samantha Owen to right center.
Owen would go on to hit a leadoff home run in the top of the fifth, recording her third homer of the year. This put the score at 8-1 in favor of OSU.
Kenya Lindstrom and Bethany Hammer pitched in the circle for the Tigers, combining for five strikeouts. Hammer recorded four in the ball game, ranking first on the team with 30 strikeouts on the season.
The Tigers look to regroup following their tough weekend as they travel to Denton, Texas and face off against (9-10) North Texas University.
The Mean Green are coming off a three game series in their conference opener against Charlotte in which they lost two of three.
