Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. - Three Pacific baseball players earned 2017 West Coast Conference Baseball All-Academic Team accolades Monday, as Cooper Casad, Matthew Tarantino and Jimmy Boras were honored by the WCC.
To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team. No fewer than 40 WCC student-athletes met the academic criteria for baseball.
Casad and Tarantino, both were named to the All-Academic Team, while Boras earned Honorable Mention.
Casad, a junior Sport Management major, owns a 4.00 GPA through the last posted semester. Tarantino also holds a 4.00 GPA, and is a Business Administration major. The duo represent the only two West Coast Conference baseball student-athletes with a 4.00. Seven West Coast Conference baseball student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better and 15 posted a GPA of 3.50 or better.
Boras, a senior, is a Sport Management Major.
