Box Score MORAGA, Calif. - Ricky Reynoso tossed six shutout innings, but Saint Mary's rallied for a walk-off win over the Pacific baseball team.
The Tigers plated runs in the fifth and sixth, but the Gaels answered with two in the eighth and a game-winning sacrifice fly to sweep the series.
Ryan Schalch finished 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jimmy Boras added an RBI. Preston Moebius also turned in a 2-for-4 afternoon.
Reynoso and Saint Mary's starter Jake Valdez cruised through the first four innings.
In the fifth, Kevin Sandri reached on an error and Preston Moebius singled through the right side to set up first and third with one out. Jimmy Boras reached on a fielders choice which plated the game's first run.
The Tigers tallied again in the sixth as Tarantino singled through the left side and came into score on a single to right by Ryan Schalch and an error by the right fielder.
Reynoso departed after six, allowing seven hits and no runs, striking out four and walking one. Vince Arobio took over in the seventh.
The Gaels picked up a one-out double from Andrew Shebloski, but James Free II gunned down Sehbloski trying to steal third to end the inning.
Valdez left after a lead-off walk in the eighth to Danny Mayer. But Strotman avoided any damage by coaxing a double-play.
In the bottom of the eighth, Brett Rasso reached on an error and Zach Kirtley singled. after Arobio struck out Kevin Milam, Edward Haus singled up the middle to cut the Tigers lead to 2-1. Jackson Thoreson singled to right to tie the game at 2-2 before Arobio coaxed a popup to end the inning.
Schalch singled to open the ninth, and pinch-runner Keaton Glover advanced to second on a groundout, but Drew Strotman got a groundout to end the frame and keep the game tied.
In the ninth, Joey Fiske drew a one-out walk. Fiske stole second and took third when the throw down went awry. Rasso followed with a sacrifice fly to left for the game-winning run.
Arobio took the loss, falling to 3-3, as he allowed one earned in 2.2 innings.
Strotman picked up the win, allowing one hit in two innings. Valdez earned a no decision, allowing one earned in seven innings.
Pacific falls to 13-24 overall, 2-16 in the West Coast Conference. Saint Mary's improves to 26-13 overall and 9-6 in the WCC.
The Tigers will return to Klein Family Field to face Sacramento State on Taco Tuesday at 6 p.m.
